Coming from all walks of life with a common interest in the medium of photography we met at the International Photography Semester of Pathshala, to learn a new language and to tell stories through it. After six months of working together, we have formed almost like a collective, where we have engaged in critical dialogs about our works but also supported each other during the process.
Here, we set out to push our boundaries, explore new territories and to find stories. Either working in a new place or going back to one’s hometown, each of us has tried to speak visually to interpret a place. A place which can be an unfamiliar space, a land in transition, or a journey between point A to point B. It has also been an exercise to present and communicate our works to the audience in different modes. ‘Inland Stories’ is an attempt to give the works a physical dimension.
